There are several ways to speed up the time spent filling out the weekly timesheet:
- Copy Entries from previous weeks
- Pre-populate Timesheet
- Component: Assigned Projects
- Timer and New Time+Expense
- see: Timer, New Time+Expense Components
- add the components to any Salesforce record
Copy Entries from previous weeks
You can copy the projects with or without the time from previous weeks: On top of the timesheet, you have a drop-down which allows you to copy entries from previous weeks:
Here you have the option to copy the two entries from the week of 3/30 (just the project, line, and activity type) or the two entries with the 4 hours entered that week (similar: the two entries from the week of 3/9).
When just the project, line, and activity type are selected, the entry is ignored, if you don't enter any time.
When you also copy the time, you need to update the time if required, or delete the line is not wanted.
Pre-populate Timesheet
Instead of selecting the project/line, etc. you can pre-populate the timesheet lines.
To enable this, the Accorto Administrator needs to:
- In Settings > Custom Settings -- Manage Accorto Settings
T&E Timesheet: Auto-Populate
Auto-Populate Timesheet options (comma separated): ProjectAllocation, ProjectLineAllocation
- will add an empty Project/Line item to a not-submitted timesheet - ProjectAllocation: create a Project Allocation record for the Resource
- ProjectLineAllocation: create a Project Line Allocation for the Resource
Project Allocation
You can allocate a Project for a Resource - details: Project Allocation
Note, that the user would need to select the actual project line they are working on (and activity type. ...).
Project Line Allocation
You can allocate a project line for a Resource - details: Project Line Allocation
You create the project line allocation via the "Allocation" action on a Project line or create the Project Line Allocations record directly.
Note, that the user may need to select the activity type.
The record needs to be active - and if not in the list, just add the resource.
Component: Assigned Projects
You can add the Component "Assigned Projects" to the home page. It shows all assigned project/lines and allows a quick entry - without the need to go to the timesheet:
